ADDITIONAL NOTES:

l'Arche de la Defense: This signature building was designed by Danish architect Johann Otto von Spreckelsen, and was completed by his associate, French architect Paul Andreu after Spreckelsen's death in 1987. It was inaugurated in the summer of 1989. From Wikipedia: The Arche is almost a perfect cube (width: 108m, height: 110m, depth: 112m; it has been suggested that the structure looks like a four-dimensional hypercube - a tesseract - projected onto the three-dimensional world)...

Located "just outside" of Paris, la Grande Arche is at the west end of Metro 1, where skyscrapers mark the city's corporate district, la Defense. On a Monday at 10am, there are more pigeons than people on the stairs, but by lunchtime, the people make yet another grand texture of the building.

More buildings, more monuments, and more architecture on this site. Visually related posts: here, here, here and here.
