ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Sundays can get especially quiet in the French capital during August. Much of the city shuts down for the fermeture annuelle (yearly closure -- a term for when everyone goes on vacation for much of the month), leaving certain neighborhoods to become ghost towns. Above, a small collection of city details from along rue de Vaugirard in the 15eme arrondissement of Paris.

Another fantastic series !!!
IMHO, the bottle of ketchup doesn't fit in that frame (#2). Otherwise it would have been so typical french.
Something about that barber shop shot intrigues me. Well done!
Love 1 and 2. All the layers on the first one is beautiful. Saw your dad last night. He was dancing up a storm while enjoying some fine karaoke. He looks great!
I am so envious of the French work schedule... it would be lovely to take a whole month off in the summer! I love the lines and pattern of the third picture. The birds in the last picture are also fun, what are they used for?
I agree with Leilani, it would've be lovely to take a whole month off in the summer. You captured the emptiness of the city very well. Looking forward to your next series.
When we honeymooned in Paris it was right around this time of year. I loved walking around the quiet neighbourhoods.
A fantastic set.
perfect, as usual :-)
You really captured the quiet abandonment, Rion. My favorite is the barber shop reflection shot!
what a beautiful set! these really capture the sense of everything slowing down. i'm jealous of a culture that collectively decides to stop for a month.
ha,ha... Americans attack Europe ))
Cap of cafe parisienne with american ketchup Heinz.
i love #2
I really liked #2 but the ketchup bottle really does look out of place. nice set of images.
i have been a fan for years and I love your web site!!!
and of course your style of photographs..
you are a true street photographer!
Agree with many that #2 is my favorite of all these, followed by #3. Great job. Empty Paris must be beautiful.
