Great series, I especially love the third picture (mainly because the eye creeps me out so much). I like to take pictures in the little tokyo grocery stores.

For me, the most amazing thing is how everything is individually wrapped, and totally perfect. Like if fish and apples were individually autoclaved medical supplies or something. It's a fish! I bet the fish section doesn't even smell fishy!

ah, japan! how i loved it. if you go to tokyo make sure you visit the tsukiji fish market - it's a photographic playground.

apples and fruit are so expensive in japan! i suppose they're quite big but 200 yen *each* is rather pricey. i found the overuse of wrapping simultaneously amusing and depressing; everything is wrapped in many layers of plastic and put in a plastic bag when you buy it (even if you're just buying a tiny onigri or something). fruit grew in the air! it does't need to be hermetically sealed!

ps, great photos :)
