ADDITIONAL NOTES:central park, new york city: blowing in the cold wind, The Gates, a temporary art installation in Central Park, line the pathways of the park. each gate, as an object, is not really a beautiful piece in itself. (i think i liked the umbrellas a bit better as "art" because they were real world objects that suggested context and symbolism along with the spectacle.) but The Gates' colors in the sun and the visual of them in multiples can be stunning and makes for some lovely sights, especially from the right angles.
