ADDITIONAL NOTES:

stretching and feeling some sunday calm after class in a chinatown studio: portraits of julie with both the 18-55mm and a 50mm f1.8.

three times a week, julie goes to class for capoeira, a 500 year old martial art that comes from brazil. she's been a passionate capoeirista for about 6 years and is currently editing a documentary she's made about the art. i'm hoping to follow her into class with my camera in the next few weeks. more portraits.

I have a friend who is VERY into Capoeira here in Los Angeles. She has only been doing it for about a year though. I'm sure she'll be interested in the documentary.

gorrrgeous set...esp the first one :)
(out of curiousity, why did you choose to go b&w with this set?)

I forget -- were you always so damn good at portraits and people??
11 January 05 @ 21:57
you really captured the mood in this set. great work....AGAIN.

did you convert these from color to b&w? they look a little flat. some, like the first one, are missing a true black tone. I'm interested to see more.
